Eucerin's Advanced Repair Hand Cream uses urea alongside lactic acid, which is what separates it from an ordinary hand lotion. Urea both draws moisture in and softens the hardened skin that builds up on hands, and lactic acid helps shed the rough surface layer. Together they address the texture as well as the dryness.

Hands are the hardest area to keep moisturised because they are washed several times a day and every wash strips the lipids again. Applying after each wash rather than once in the morning is what makes the difference.
