How to Use
For cough and nasal congestion - topical rub: Adults: Apply a thick layer to the chest, throat, and back and rub in well. Leave nightclothes loose so vapors reach the nose and mouth easily. Use up to 3 to 4 times daily. Children 2 years and over: Apply a light layer to the chest and back. Keep clothing loose. Children 2 to 5 years: use 2 to 3 times daily and do not apply to the face. Children 6 years and over: apply to chest, neck, and back.
For cough and nasal congestion - steam inhalation (adults and children 6 years and over only):
- Partly fill a bowl with hot water (not boiling).
- Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of VapoRub to the water.
- Lean over the bowl and inhale the medicated vapors.
- Do not re-heat the mixture after use.
- Do not heat VapoRub in a microwave.
- Do not add to a container with actively heating water.
For minor muscle and joint aches: Apply to the affected area up to 3 to 4 times daily, or as directed by a physician.
