Iron fortification addresses the dietary iron gap that opens at 6 months when breast milk alone no longer meets the growing infant's iron requirements.

How to Use

• Wash hands before preparation
• Add 4 to 5 heaped scoops of cereal to a clean bowl for a 6-month-old beginning weaning
• Add the appropriate amount of breast milk, formula, or boiled cooled water to achieve the desired consistency
• Mix thoroughly until smooth - adjust liquid volume to make thinner or thicker as needed
• Test temperature - should be lukewarm not hot
• Feed immediately - do not save prepared cereal for a later feed
• Increase quantity and thickness gradually as the infant becomes more experienced with solid foods
• Always supervise feeding and never leave an infant unattended during solid food intake
