MEBO Scar Ointment applies the same Beta-Sitosterol herbal active that is in the MEBO wound healing preparation to the specific purpose of scar remodelling and improvement. Applied consistently over the healing and maturation phase of a scar, Beta-Sitosterol and the herbal base support the transition from the raised, firm, red hypertrophic scar tissue to a flatter, softer, less visible mark. The ointment base maintains the moist, supple environment that facilitates the extracellular matrix remodelling that underlies scar maturation.

How to Use

• Apply a thin layer of ointment directly to the scar once or twice daily

• Begin use as soon as the wound has fully closed and the surface epithelium is intact - do not apply to open wounds
• Continue for a minimum of 2 to 3 months for hypertrophic scars - scar remodelling is a slow process requiring sustained treatment
• If using under a silicone sheet or dressing, apply the ointment first and allow to absorb before applying the silicone
• Protect the scar from sun exposure using SPF50 - UV darkens scars and slows fading
